The Buy Nearby program has come a long way since 2013. But our mission has not altered.

When you Keep Your Money in Michigan©, you’re supporting the vital stores in your downtowns that employ family and friends, donate to local fundraisers and soup kitchens, and sponsor area little league and soccer teams. If Michiganders redirected 10% of their estimated $30.3 billion in out-of-state e-commerce, Michigan would gain $2.2 billion in gross economic input.

We’re offering free packets of materials for Buy Nearby Weekend. Display the items in your store to promote shopping local and informing shoppers of the benefits of supporting their nearby businesses, rather than out of state retailers with no ties to Michigan.

Packets will be mailed in late-September.

Michigan Retailers Association members that request packets will also be added to our MRA members participating in Buy Nearby map. The map is promoted on social media and through emails to Buy Nearby ambassadors, chambers, and legislators.
